Checking in with the kids of the America’s Cup Endeavour Program

Today the Endeavour Program that aims to take sailing to communities involved with the America’s Cup, as first launched in Bermuda, was also introduced to New York.
Tucker Thompson and Russell Coutts welcomed the kids, with the Auld Mug in attendance, and a sailor from each team met with the young sailors before they headed out on the water.
I was lucky enough to chat with a group of kids when they hit the dock on their Colgate 26, with the Offshore Sailing School, and then “Natalie” who was terrified about going sailing today… But is now hooked and can’t wait to do it again!
While these kids were out on the water falling in love with sailing, there will be others that have no doubt been watching the AC45’s as well as the Hobies and Colgate 26’s from the building-lined stadium that is the Hudson on a work day…
This has to be good for sailing!
Stay tuned for interviews with the skippers straight after racing tomorrow or find past adventures at www.AdventuresofaSailorGirl.com.
